I can't believe I'm blogging. What the hell does that mean, anyway? B.L.O.G. Hmmm... We'll think of a fitting acronym later. Feel free to submit your favorites. I think I've figured out the underlying concept though: Why the sudden explosion of amateur typists in the 'blogosphere?' ... A veritable blog-frenzy sweeping America (and the world) by storm? Why, you ask? Simple, my friends! Because everybody wants to think that other people care what they think, are interested in their opinions, thoughts, musings, and other little brain-turds. They like the idea that with the click of a mouse, tens, hundreds, no- MILLIONS of people could be (and probably are!) reading the droll minutia of their everyday lives! Not only that, but those millions are most probably eating it up, and savoring every drop. Why, it's entirely possible (thinks the eager first-time blogger) that at that very moment, untold numbers of secret reading clubs and fan cults could be popping up all over cyberspace dedicated entirely to THEM! After all, it's no fun to pour your heart out into a noveletta when you know you'll in all liklihood have to do violent battle with myriad publishers just to convince some lowly literature cynic that your words are worth printing to paper. But oh, the instant gratification of instantaneous publication in cyberspace. The gemstones of wit that tumble from your voluminous cranial cavity can now be snatched up at will (for free!) by any sapien sentient enought to comprehend the gravity of one's flatulent prognostications. Oh, sweet justice!

This, I muse, is why 'blogging' has enjoyed such recent meteoric rise...

And of course, why I have chosen to join the throngs. Stay tuned, eager readers!
